Calling All Contractors and Suppliers – Local Outreach Event June 28 for New Little Caesars Global Headquarters Project in The District Detroit

Olympia Development of Michigan will host a trade contractor outreach event June 28 at MotorCity Casino Hotel where bidding opportunities will be made available for construction of the new Little Caesars Global Resource Center in The District Detroit. This event is part of the organization’s commitment to a Michigan Made, Detroit Built project and to create opportunities for local businesses. Event registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with an overview presentation at 9:00 a.m., followed by a question and answer session and networking.

Olympia Development of Michigan has selected Detroit-based Brinker-Christman as Construction Manager for the project. Detroit-based SmithGroupJJR is the Architect of Record.

Companies will be able to bid in a wide range of areas including drywall, elevators, fire protection, flooring, HVAC systems, plumbing, roofing, structural steel and many others.

The Little Caesars Global Resource Center will be a new 234,000 square-foot, nine-story building being constructed on Woodward Avenue adjacent to the Fox Theatre in Detroit—at the center of The District Detroit’s Columbia Street neighborhood.

In its ongoing work on the new Little Caesars Arena and its surrounding retail and office space, Olympia Development of Michigan has awarded more than $300 million, nearly 60 percent of total contracts awarded so far, to Detroit-based businesses. Detroit residents have logged more than 140,000 work hours on site, and there are more than 40 Detroit resident apprentices working currently. Nearly $500 million, or more than 90 percent, of contracts have been awarded to Michigan-based companies. Click here to watch a video about the project's positive impact on Detroit and Michigan.
