The city of Detroit Downtown Development Authority on September 14 approved development agreements for the $150 million Little Caesars World Headquarters Campus Expansion and the $24.4 million first phase of a mixed-use building on Henry Street adjacent to Little Caesars Arena.

Since 2014, the Ilitch Organization has broken ground on $1 billion in new projects in Detroit, bringing thousands of construction and construction-related jobs to the city, region and state.

Construction on the $150 million, nine-story, 234,000 square foot Little Caesars World Headquarters Campus Expansion in The District Detroit’s Columbia Street neighborhood is already underway. Expected to be complete in 2018, the building is Detroit’s first newly constructed corporate headquarters in more than a decade and only the seventh since 1950. Detroit-based construction manager Brinker-Christman is leading the building’s construction, with Detroit-based architect SmithGroupJJR responsible for design.

The mixed-use building located on Henry Street near Little Caesars Arena in The District Detroit’s Woodward Square neighborhood will create significant parking options for residents, visitors and fans and is expected to house thousands of square feet of exciting new retail space. Concepts for residential and office space uses in the building are also currently being explored. Detroit-based joint venture Colisanti-MiG is serving as the construction manager for the $24.4 million first phase of the building currently underway.

“These agreements are tremendous news for the city and show that The District Detroit is delivering additional jobs to Detroit workers and companies,” said Rod Miller, President and CEO of The Detroit Economic Growth Corporation. “The fact that these projects have moved forward this quickly is especially encouraging, and we look forward to even more progress.”
