Detroit Pistons Return to Detroit at Little Caesars Arena

Pistons Return Thumb

The Detroit Pistons ushered in a new era in Detroit sports and entertainment history during their 2017-2018 season opener against the Charlotte Hornets at the new Little Caesars Arena.

Before their 102-90 victory, Pistons fans enjoyed an afternoon and evening filled with festivities and musical performances.

Halftime and pre-game entertainers included Eminem collaborator and Grammy-nominated singer Skylar Grey; Detroit-native and hip-hop artist Dej Loaf and 2016 American Idol contestant Manny Torres.

Many former and legendary Pistons players made appearances, including Dave Bing and Bob Lanier.

Attendees received commemorative t-shirts and an engraved, interactive PixMob wristband that helped to create the ultimate fan experience as each pixel transformed the crowd into a canvas.

The team’s historic move from the Palace of Auburn Hills to Little Caesars Arena makes Detroit the only city in the nation with four local, major sports leagues in its downtown district.

The move also marks the team’s return to city, where they previously played at Olympia Stadium and Cobo Arena.
