From Bubble hockey and open ice skating to video games and curling with Team USA Olympic gold medalist Tyler George, indoor and outdoor family fun will be plentiful at the inaugural Hockeytown Winterfest, presented by Coca-Cola and Meijer at Little Caesars Arena.

On Sunday, January 20, from 2-7 p.m., the free event will feature programming for fans of all ages and abilities at the world-class sports and entertainment venue.

Other happenings will include prizes and promotions, Hockeytown Experience interactive games, inflatable street hockey, face painting, caricature artists, magician routines, unique photo opportunities, a chance to meet Red Wings alumni and one-of-a-kind outdoor activities, like Toboggan Rides and the 30-foot-tall Mt. Everest Slide.

The festivities will coincide with the Detroit Red Wings road game against the Vancouver Canucks. The game, which starts at 4 p.m., will broadcast on the center hung videoboard inside Little Caesars Arena — the largest seamless scoreboard in the world — as guests enjoy the open ice skating below. The game will also be shown on the 900-square-foot screen at Chevrolet Plaza and more than 50 televisions in the arena’s Via concourse.

The T.V.s in Mike’s Pizza Bar, Sports and Social Detroit, Kid Rock’s Made in Detroit and District Market will also display the game. Select concession locations will also be open, with discount specials.

The curling clinic featuring Tyler George will be hosted by the Ferndale-based Detroit Curling Club and will take place at the BELFOR Training Center, the underground practice rink for the Red Wings and the game venue for local youth hockey teams.

Guests that plan to visit the arena bowl ice rink should bring their own skates. Limited rentals will also be available.

Red Wings season ticket holders will be allowed entry into the Hockeytown Winterfest an hour early at 1 p.m. For more information, visit www.DetroitRedWings.com/Winterfest.
