Students Inspiring Students: Internship Creates New Opportunities

Alex Lopez has been so inspired by working with Olympia Development of Michigan as an intern this summer, he is now considering pursuing a career in architecture.
Lopez is currently an intern with Olympia Development of Michigan where he helps architects organize structural and electrical plans for Comerica Park.
He is one of 24 students from Cass Technical High School who are currently interning for Detroit Tigers, Olympia Entertainment, Little Caesars and other Ilitch Companies.
“Being able to work in your field of work before college is something most high school students can’t say they’ve had the opportunity of doing,” said Lopez.
Lopez will leave with an once-in-a-lifetime experience and connections with people who have made this internship memorable.
After working with Olympia Development of Michigan, Lopez is now considering studying Architecture after high school at Howard University.
“Seeing the people who work in my department happy to come to work every day and seeing development in my city, makes me want to be a part of something this great,” said Lopez
