Following the postponement of the Detroit Tigers home opener until Friday, March 30, the inaugural Jack Daniel’s Season Opening Celebration at the state-of-the-art Little Caesars Arena will also resume on Friday beginning at 8 a.m. Thousands of Tigers fans attended the festival on Thursday, which has been extended to a two-day event.

As part of the indoor and outdoor festival, Friday’s Tigers-Pirates game will be shown live on the 900-square foot video screen located in Chevrolet Plaza adjacent to the Meijer southwest entry of Little Caesars Arena as well as on 50+ televisions and video screens located inside the Little Caesars Arena Via concourse. The televisions in all four Little Caesars Arena restaurants will also show the game.

Comerica Park gates will open at 11 a.m., and fans are encouraged to enter the ballpark early. All paid tickets for Thursday’s game will be honored for Friday’s game or can be exchanged for any future regular season game in the next 12 months. Please visit tigers.com for more information.

A wide range of activities remain scheduled, including live music featuring Your Generation in Concert, interactive games and Red Wings and Pistons promotions. Former Red Wing great Darren McCarty will sign autographs from 10 a.m. until Noon.

Guests are encouraged to download The District Detroit Mobile App presented by XFINITY. Available in the App Store and Google Play Store, fans can secure parking in advance at any of the Olympia Development-managed parking lots and even find the best route to parking lots and venues.

Q: Do I have to be 21 to enter?
A: No, the event is free for all ages. Fans 21+ who wish to purchase alcohol will need to visit an ID checkpoint to receive a wristband in order to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Q: How do I enter Little Caesars Arena?
A: The only entrance open is the Meijer Entry, Southeast. All fans will be screened upon entering the arena. Fans can exit through either the Meijer or Chevrolet (Northeast) entries.

Q: What time will Your Generation play?
A: The band will take the stage in Chevrolet Plaza from 11 am – 1 pm.

Q: Where will Detroit Red Wings Alumni be signing autographs?
A: Darren McCarty will sign autographs in the Budweiser Lounge located in the Budweiser Biergarten from 10 am – 12pm.

Q: Will I be able to watch the Tigers game at the event?

A: The outdoor activities will remain open until the 7 pm start of the Pistons game. The activities happening inside the Little Caesars Arena Via concourse will end at 3 pm.

Q: Can I take my alcoholic drink from Chevrolet Plaza into the Budweiser Biergarten and vice versa?
A: In general, guests must consume their alcoholic beverage in the area that it was purchased. These areas include:

  • Chevrolet Plaza/Henry Street/Plaza outside Comerica entry southeast (outside)
  • Budweiser Biergarten (outside)
  • Little Caesars Arena Via concourse (inside)
  • All 4 Little Caesars Arena restaurants

Q: Where do I purchase tickets for the beer festival inside the Little Caesars Arena Via concourse?
A: Tickets will be sold inside the Via concourse at portable stands with signs that say “Beer tickets sold here.” Tickets are 3 for $10. Tickets can be redeemed for a 6 oz. pour. A few limited-edition beers require two tickets.

Q: Can tickets purchased for craft beers in the Via concourse be used to purchase beer at other locations?
A: No, beer sold at other locations require direct cash or credit card purchase.

Q: Will any concession stands be open inside the arena/Via concourse?
A: Yes, a limited number of stands will be open inside the Little Caesars Arena Via concourse. The following stands will be open;

  • 313 Grill
  • Butcher & Barrel
  • Little Caesars Pizza
  • Bell’s stand  

Q: Will the arena restaurants be open?
A: Yes, brunch will be available at Kid Rock’s Made in Detroit starting at 8 am and fresh food all day. The District Market, Mike’s Pizza Bar and Sports & Social will also open at 8 am.

Q: Will I need a wristband to enter the arena?
A: You will not need a wristband to enter Little Caesars Arena. You will need a wristband if you want to purchase beer/alcohol inside Little Caesars Arena.

Q: Where are the restrooms located?
A: Portable toilets are located on Henry Street behind the Jack Daniel’s stage bar. There are also restrooms located at the base of Little Caesars Arena Parking Garage. Guests will also be able to access restrooms in the Little Caesars Arena Via concourse.

Q: Where is First Aid located?
A: First Aid is located inside the Belfor Entrance located just north of the Meijer Entry southeast.

Q: Is there re-entry into Little Caesars Arena
A: Yes, you can re-enter the building and will be screened each time you re-enter.
