The Detroit Pistons and Olympia Development of Michigan Team Up to Celebrate The District Detroit Night — March 17

DETROIT –The Detroit Pistons and Olympia Development of Michigan are teaming up to host The District Detroit Night at the Palace of Auburn Hills on March 17 when the Pistons take on the Toronto Raptors.  The special promotional night continues to build excitement about the team’s upcoming move to Little Caesars Arena in The District Detroit next season.  The first 7,500 fans to the game will receive a limited edition The District Detroit/Detroit Pistons hat and have the chance to win additional giveaways.  The event builds on previous events held with the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings celebrating the fact that when the Pistons move to Little Caesars Arena, The District Detroit will be home to Detroit’s four professional sports teams within four blocks of each other in the city’s downtown core – a claim that can be made by no other city in the county.

The District Detroit is one of the largest and most exciting sports and entertainment developments anywhere. The $1.2 billion+ development project is transforming 50 blocks around Comerica Park and the new Little Caesars Arena into new restaurants, shops, bars, parks, offices and places to live. The project will develop five unique neighborhoods around six theaters and three professional sports venues to connect Midtown to Downtown Detroit in one vibrant, walkable area.

The District Detroit Night at the Palace of Auburn Hills will celebrate the team’s return to Detroit next season with giveaways and promotional activities. In addition to the co-branded hat, fans can win additional giveaways by engaging on social media at The District Detroit Red Carpet photo booth experience, which will be located in the north pavilion throughout the March 17 game. Fans are encouraged to take photos and tag them on social media with #DistrictDetroit. The night will be the perfect way for The Palace visitors to get to know The District Detroit.

Little Caesars Arena will be the new home of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons beginning in the 2017-18 seasons and will be the premier entertainment venue in the region for other sports events, concerts and family shows.
