The team behind Four Man Ladder, operators of Grey Ghost Detroit and Second Best, are delighted to announce the grand opening of their third restaurant, Basan Detroit. Basan will open its doors for service on Tuesday, November 15 starting at 4:00 pm at 2703 Park Avenue in Detroit, on the ground floor of Olympia Development’s Eddystone building.

The 4,000 square foot, 77-seat restaurant, located just steps away from the Little Caesars Arena in The District Detroit, will be open seven days a week, serving dinner and cocktails in both its main dining room and expansive lounge. Designed by Chicago-based design group Simeone Deary, aesthetic features include an open kitchen, 12-seat private dining space, dramatic lighting, plush velvet cranberry red sofas, golden natural wood and custom artwork. A spacious patio will open in the spring.

Helmed by Executive Chef Eric Lees, Basan’s menu features five categories: Buns, Skewers, Small Plates, Large Plates and Sweets. Stand-out dishes include:

  • Bologna Bun - spicy mayo. onion jam. nori. puffed rice

  • Whole Fried Snapper - steam buns. pickles. nuoc cham
  • Tofu Donut - black sesame. creme anglaise.

The restaurant’s beverage program has been curated by Beverage Director, Will Lee alongside Beverage Manager, Alex Kirles. Offerings include twelve craft cocktails, a series of No ABV mocktails, packaged and draft beers, sake and a full wine list.
