Concerts, Basketball Take Over The District Detroit This Weekend

There will be plenty to do this weekend in The District Detroit with concerts planned at Comerica Park and Little Caesars Arena, while BIG3 basketball makes its Detroit debut. The fun kicks off Friday night.

Comerica Park will transform into a rockin’ concert venue for the weekend when two legendary rock bands and friends perform at the Detroit Tigers’ stomping grounds Friday, July 13. Journey and Def Leppard, along with special guest, the Pretenders, will perform at The District Detroit’s premier ballpark at 6 p.m.

Also on Friday night, catch the BIG3, three-on-three, half-court basketball excitement happening at Little Caesars Arena. BIG3 is a 8-team basketball league founded by rapper/actor Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz in 2017. The games mostly comprise of former NBA ballers and feature three players from each team playing on one side of the hoop. Tickets are available here.

On Saturday, July 14, the country group Zac Brown Band and several special guests will then take over Comerica Park at 6:30 p.m. Special guests include pop rock band, OneRepublic; and alternative world music act, Nahko and Medicine for the People, which includes lead guitarist, Chase Makai.

Also on Saturday night, at 7 p.m., head back over to Little Caesars Arena to catch the indie-pop band Panic! at the Disco,, with special guests ARIZONA and Hayley Kiyoko. Purchase your tickets online at
