Jewel Skin to Light Up Little Caesars Arena Concourse

Jewel Skin Thumb

A unique technological feature of Little Caesars Arena, known as the jewel skin, is being installed now inside the Via concourse surrounding a large part of the arena bowl. Hundreds of dimensional metal panels will make up a single projection screen, stretching 600 feet from the southwest corner of the Via concourse to the northeast.

Detroit Red Wings fans, Detroit Pistons fans and enthusiastic concertgoers will be immediately immersed in the action when they enter Little Caesars Arena with larger-than-life videos and graphics on the jewel skin.

Installation of the jewel skin panels is being managed by Detroit-based Cass Sheet Metal, which has operated in the city for more than 25 years.

Little Caesars Arena is one of many new developments underway or planned in The District Detroit. The arena is scheduled to open in September. The entire district will ultimately account for a total economic impact of more than $2 billion and create more than 12,500 construction and construction-related jobs in addition to 1,100 permanent jobs.
